NEUROSCIENCE RESEARCH AND DRUG DISCOVERY IN purkinje_neuron_web0.gifCHANNELOPATHIES

The research objectives will:

* Optimise photolabile caged amino acid neurotransmitters for photolysis with the two photon effect and develop new caged ligands for use in neuroscience.

* Develop new fast pulsed laser sources

* Develop techniques of wavefront modulation in microscopy to optimise photolysis and imaging deep in the brain in vivo

* Apply flash photolysis of caged neuroactive amino acids in high throughput screening at glutamate and GABA receptors.

* Develop somatic cell therapy for neuroscience.
